So, it is time. The hard work pays off. For the last few years we have been working hard to try and get funding for a new skatepark. This seemed a million miles away at day one, but over the years the reality of it happening has become closer and closer. From 2012 when we open our doors on the hot summers day and watched people flood into the skatepark we knew that this was something we wanted to push forwards. Going into this blind we have learnt a lot along the way, mainly that ramp builders are in work for a reason, its very hard, very technical and takes years of work to perfect. When we first build the skatepark it was done to a tight budget without any previous Skatepark building knowledge, saying all that, we have loved it and despite it not been the ‘best’ skatepark everyone else has as well. Onboard as it stands today has kept bmxers, scooters and skaters indoors an dry for the last nearly 6 years. But now it is time to have something really worth riding, to help push to level in Sheffield, with support from Sport England this has been made possible.
As of the 15th of April we will close the doors and in a matter of months a new park will be born. We hope you are as excited as we are. Keep checking the website / instagram (@onboardkskatepark) and i will be keeping everyone posted and whats new.
